About Us

Amongst Sisters started when friends started talking about sex and realized how freeing it felt to talk so openly with other Christian sisters. We learned tips, we shared past hurts, we prayed for each other. We want this site to be a place where you can do the same. We love how God has designed our brains and bodies for sex and intimacy with our husbands. That is why a man leaves his father and mother and is united to his wife, and they become one flesh. Genesis 2:24. He is a good God! While we aren’t secret about what we believe, we do use pen names (not our real names) to protect the privacy of our lives and our husbands, and to allow us the freedom to be more open and honest with other Christian women.

West Coast Cook

My husband and I have been together for the last 17 years (I’ll let you go ahead and pretend we started dating when we were five.) We have two precious little boys that get most of my daytime energy. We are not originally from the West Coast, but moved here several years ago, and are loving it! In my free time I love to cook. If you come to my house, I’m going to try to feed you, be warned. Reading is another favorite past time, but the time I have to read has dwindled in the past few years. God has been teaching me to be still over the last year or so. (He’s got a lot of work to do.) Stillness has come in many forms, simplifying my family’s schedule, taking care of myself, and giving me and my family open time in our lives. God has blessed us immensely and I am so thankful!

Southern Mom of Many

My greatest honor in life is being wife to my amazing man and being called Mommy by 8 precious people. My husband and I met in college and the Lord has given us children in many ways and stages, preschool to college, biological, international adoption and the surprise addition of a refugee son who joined our family at age 21. The adoption process, if you or someone you know has experienced adoption either domestically or internationally, you’ll understand how the adoption process has taken it’s toll on me and my marriage. Through our seasons of challenges my husband and I have found a way to weather the storm of life and come out the other end stronger. While the tiny people are in school, I work in the field of social work and ministry. When I rarely get a chance to carve out time for myself or focus on self-care I like to wander the aisles of Target, write, read and fellowship with the wonderful women in my life. In our 14 years of marriage, we have walked through hardships and depths of pain that I didn’t know were possible and also unspeakable joy. But God is faithful and in the hardest moments of our journey, the intimacy with my husband has deepened and goodness was present, especially in the storms of life when all we had to cling to was each other! Life is hard but God is good.

Upstate Crafty Communicator

I am a wife to my high school love and mother of three kiddos who are all preschool through early elementary aged. My days are spent keeping our household fed and not looking like a tornado hit it. In this season of young children if I ever get a few moments to myself I want to spend them enjoying a delicious meal with my man or quietly reading with a good cup of hot tea. I love my messy life of raising babies and trying to do life God’s way. It is never easy and most of the time I am either messing up majorly or barely surviving. However, every night I fall asleep knowing where I went wrong in my day as a woman of God, wife and mother and finding ways both big and small to get up the next day to try a little better all over again. God’s grace has washed over me the past few years and I strive to share with others my experiences and lessons I have learned. A great pastor has been quoted as saying “Never waste a hurt!” So here I am.
